I just got blender a little while ago and I'm trying to learn to make stuff with it. I know it's only 1 dakka, but it's my first model, so cut me some slack. Btw, I have no idea how to make textures yet, so it's a bit grey.

Huh, you're using blender? I've considered using it for human models, but it seems like too much work for what I'd be using it for.

I have no idea how to even draw people, let alone model them, so I can't even imagine how hard it'd be to make/animate one. The advantage though is that you'd only have to do it once, so yeah...

yeah, but I have incentive. I like being a part of large projects, and VALVe released a contribution system for TF2 so people can submit weaoon ideas and stuff like that, and as I'm sure you can guess, I have a million and seven ideas. However, the main limitation is that you can only submit 3d models of a certain variety, so I need to either find a pro who will help me, or learn modeling myself.
